Provincial Nominee Program

Overview

Every province and territory except Quebec runs its own nominee streams targeting the workers, graduates and entrepreneurs it needs. Some streams are linked to Express Entry (an 'enhanced' nomination adds 600 CRS points and effectively guarantees an invitation); others are 'base' streams with a paper application straight to IRCC.

What you need

• Meet the specific stream's occupation, education or job-offer criteria
• Show intent to live and work in the nominating province
• Language results at the level the stream demands (often CLB 5-7)
• Settlement funds set by the province

How the process runs

   Match a stream

   Compare streams across provinces; each publishes its own occupation list and draws.

   Register interest

   Many provinces use an expression-of-interest pool before inviting applications.

   Apply for nomination

   Submit provincial forms, employer documents and proof of ties.

   Apply for PR

   With the nomination certificate, apply federally through Express Entry or on paper.
